I was going to paint this week and start homeschooling next week.
But my parents-in-law, who wanted to take the oldest four kids for a week during the summer, but couldn't manage to do it when I expected them to, have no declared the intention of doing so next week.
Next week, when I have arranged for them NOT to start back to school with the rest of the community.
Okay, so that works, but I'm morally responsible to make sure there schooling isn't neglected, so…
… I started their interim homeschooling today, so that when they get back from Grandma's they will be one day behind, not a whole week.
I thought things went pretty well, actually. I'm exhausted, but I'm confident that can be more readily attributed to the fact that I spent most of the day ripping footboards and trim off the walls, and sanding and washing and taping, than to the homeschooling effort… and after I finish blogging, I will try to get a the first coat of paint up so that it can dry overnight. Boyd said that he will help me, despite the fact that his work is in chaaos, and that he didn't even get home until nearly eight o'clock. Joy and rapture.
But what the hey, I've been having insomnia problems anyway, might as well spend those wakeful hours painting as tossing and turning in bed. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
