I just put a street food vendor’s dried squid cart into the background “crowd” portion of the painting that might possibly be put on the cover of Across a Jade Sea Volume 3: Fealty’s Shore. This made me happy. I guess I get excited over some pretty strange things.
Confessions of a Creataholic
Exercise Question
So, does anyone else get tingling fingers, dizzyness/light-headedness, eyesight going dark, severe balance issues and static in the ears, from doing less than twenty minutes of not notably strenuous exercise?
Not that I always get all of that. Usually it’s just the dizzyness/light-headedness. (And I assume I also look terrible, because my kids keep asking me anxiously if I’m okay.)
But today I’m doing significantly worse than usual. 🙁
I have just registered for Marcon
I used to try to get to two conventions a year, Marcon, and OVFF, but didn’t always make it to both. This year, I didn’t get to either of them. Next year that won’t happen again. I have just paid my membership fees for Marcon — they don’t give refunds, therefore I will be there barring an emergency of truly disastrous proportions. And I will be bringing my husband, and three of my kids.
Hopefully I will be at OVFF too, but one step at a time. Right?
Same as Every Year So Far…
The question seems to be being asked everywhere, but answering it always feels like I’m raining on someone’s parade, so I guess I’ll answer it in my own space instead of theirs: No, I will not be participating in NaNoWriMo.
The only possible benefit I could see it having for me, is that it would prevent me from feeling quite so lonely, when the activity on most of the online communities I participate in goes down to almost nothing for the entire month. That never seems to me like a good enough reason to sign up.
Instead, I’m going to hope that my health will be sufficiently good to allow me to be too busy to care that there’s nobody around to talk to. ::crosses fingers::
So much for keeping up with the Jones
I just got my very first ever cordless phone.
At this rate, I’ll get my first cell-phone in… twenty years?
Look what I made!
This is the CGI “Treasure Box” that was my latest project for Across a Jade Sea.
Beside it is my two projects ago CGI creation: an origami fold. (Yes, okay, maybe it’s a bit odd to be making virtual origami folds… I made some out of real paper first.) Both the box and the fold have plot significance in Across a Jade Sea. Now onto the next project: the sixth and final map for the series.
First customer
My husband’s website just made it’s first sale, and there is now a bought and paid for copy of my space pirate graphic novel out there somewhere. I hope it found a good home.
18 Holes at Buck Creek
I just managed to finish all 18 holes of the disc-golf course at Buck Creek State Park, for the first time ever. (I think my previous record on that course was 12 holes.) The number of courses I can complete without collapsing is definitely going up. I may have to start actually counting my throws soon.
Jewelwyrms on Display
Random Jewelwyrm Image Utility. Posted to my blog so I can find it again when I want it.
50 Pages of Black Flag
The serialization of my graphic novel, Brotherhood of the Black Flag, Book 1: Flag in Flames, has just reached 50 pages.
I think that counts as a milestone.
We also just started chapter four, so I have three complete chapters up, which I believe also counts as a milestone. So… go me twice!
