I've been working on my new improved Art website. It's not ready to go up yet, but it is starting to take shape.
Websites are so much easier than writing, I can work on them when my brain is totally off in lala land.

I didn't even come close to making my quota this week.
I've been spending the time I usually spend writing making sure my children get caught up in their schoolwork.
Somehow I will work this out, but it might take a while, so the odds of me making next week's quota are not favorable.
Christmas Crafts
Ran children's crafts for “Small Town Christmas” on Saturday, with Azure, Jasmine and Alloria's help.
I think it went well. I was too busy to take any pictures though. I think we had about 80 or so kids come through and make something.
We made large ornaments for the community tree in the center of town.
For the younger children we made tinfoil balls, tied up in colored plastic film, and tied with a ribbon, to look pretty. The balls are stuffed with plastic shopping bags, and so are light-weight, inexpensive, and reasonably water proof.
The older children were given Sharpie markers so they could make their own designs on the tinfoil, and either made tinfoil bells (using the top third of a 2liter pop bottle as the base) or decorated tinfoil balls, like the younger kids, only without the plastic film.
We also cut up the bottom of the pop-bottles into strips to make a chain. Each strip was stapled into place, wrapped in tinfoil, and then every other link was also wrapped in plastic film. The result was very colorful and much admired.
Webpage Musings
Was poking around the Speculations website, and someone said that they liked pictures of one's real life, and not just a mugshot.
Well, see, I kept trying to make a family website, and it always seemed inane and boring, and ultimately unfocussed. I seem to find websites a bit more enjoyable when I know what the point is. I also have a problem with pictures, because, well, when they are of kids they go out of date so quickly. I enjoy building websites, I don't really enjoy updating them, a website featuring my family would require almost constant updating. What a bore.
But, it occurs to me, that I could always include a few photos in my blog. Not that I take a lot of photos. But every once in a while I can post something.
So, here we go. My kids at the zoo last month. Ta dahh!

And another quota made.
This time it took me til Friday, but only because I had to go shopping on Tuesday during the time I usually set aside for writing.
Queen of Winds
I've done 8 out of nine God cards, and I'm leaving it there, due to wardrobe problems. I'm not entirely happy with them, but I figure I'll do a better job of redoing the ones I don't like, if I finish the rest of the set first. So I've moved on to the first card in the white suit: The Priestess
More Viashi
Here's god card 7. It's the sixth one I've done, because I had to skip 6 for now, because I couldn't find the right clothes for God 6.
Another week's Quota made

Despite a cold and Thanksgiving I've written my 5000 words for the week already. 🙂
Now I guess I better get on to other things, like, er, housework, and entering the kids' school hours.
Viashi Cards
I'm working on artwork for my Viashi deck, (the cards I invented for Racciman's World) for no particular good reason that I can think of. Well, I know what inspired me — my mother in law came over and Ben wanted to teach her the card game he had invented for the Viashi deck, and I mentioned that there were supposed to be pictures, not just colored borders on the cards. But there's no *reason* to be making the artwork. The odds that I will actually ever get a deck of cards printed up with them is miniscule. 54 pieces of artwork is way too big a project. I might actually get the God Cards done, though.
Here's the first one…

First time I've made a weekly quota since April, but here it is, only Thursday, and officially I'm done for the week.
Secondly…
Number One Son has been reading Cantata in Coral and Ivory and he's been chuckling, and reading his favorite lines aloud to unwary passer-byes, just like he would if it was a Terry Pratchett book, or a Bujold book. ****glow****
