Usually attains a height of about <height>70</height> ft, and a diameter of 24-<diameter>36</diameter> inches, but is sometimes much larger. In the forest it is tall and straight with a clear trunk and narrow crown. Bark on young trees is somoth and grey to green, on older trees thick and broken by shallow fissures into regular, flat, smooth plates.
