Chinquapin Oak. Bark is light grey, breaks up into short narrow flakes on the main trunk. Reaches 70-<height>90</height> ft. Found throughout <native>Ohio</native> -- abundant in the southwest, grows everywhere except swamps. Straight shapely trunk bears a round-topped head of small branches. Leaves look a lot like a Chestnut, but this is actually a kind of Oak tree.
