Background

Silver was born a slave in a rural district on Osabine. When the Jolly Roger stopped the ship he was travelling on with his mistress, Madam Majia Abrar, he joined the Brotherhood, and proved to be adaptable, intelligent, hard-working, and to have unusually fast reflexes. He had mastered the basic skills of the System Operations, Engineering and Comp sections before the ship's head medic noticed his aptitude scores and commandeered him to work in sick bay. When Captain Stede died of a mysterious degenerative ailment, Silver was elected Captain of the Jolly Roger.
