L. Shelby's Sketchbook: Digital Paint (2D Graphics)I have finally acquired a graphics tablet so I may be doing a bit more 2D work in the future. I hate drawing with a mouse. A copy of PhotoShop Essentials 2 came with it, and I like it a lot, but it would be cool to be able to afford PhotoShop itself. Even before I got the tablet, however, there was one thing that I like to do in 2D, and that's maps. Paint programs with layers are particularly good, because you can put different kinds of map information on different layers and turn them on and off at will. | Racciman's World |
Icon for Dark Moon Light | I also use my 2D paint programs to do post work on many of my 3D images. The woman in this image was rendered in Poser, but I created the background in PhotoDeluxe. | For these Writing Tutorial icons, I rendered the scene in Bryce, and the face in Poser, and then added the text over the top using PhotoDeluxe. | |
Samanth and Asond from Talking with WindsThis image has a fair amount of postwork; the grass, Samanth's hair and the horses tails were all painted in to make it look like the wind was blowing. | And, of course, all my little world icons were drawn in 2D before I owned any other software toys.
