Well, I’m not actually between books, really — I’m editing a book. Except that I’m not, because I’m waiting for feedback from some of my beta-readers. I don’t want to start writing another book when I’m not finished with this one yet, so my writing is on hold for the nonce.
That means I have spare time and energy to do other things.
And one of the things I told myself I would do, is get Black Flag (the space pirate graphic novel that I am making using my CGI toys) back on schedule.
So far, I’m not having very notable success.
I spent most of yesterday (what time I wasn’t at the dentist) trying to convince my primary software program (Poser 7) to turn the rather complicated virtual scene that I had finally gotten put together into a pretty picture. It kept crashing. So one by one I removed elements from the scene until finally it was small enough that my computer could handle the strain. Then I had to put those elements back and remove different ones, over and over until I finally had all the bits I needed for the first panel of my next page. When I start putting the actual page together (using PhotoShop Essentials) I will layer each of the pictures I made over top each other, erasing and adjusting as needed so that it looks like everything was all there at the same time.
Today I get to repeat the process with the scene for panel two. 🙂
