I've been having a lot of trouble with my voice recently, but I still get out my concertina every once and a while give my fingers a workout.
I have been spending most of my practice time on covers. What little time I spend on my own songs, has been almost entirely devoted to keeping the accompaniments I worked out for Marcon last year in practice. I haven't really been working on expanding the number of my own songs that I can accompany myself for. I just can't seem to decide which of my songs are most worth putting the effort into, and I have discovered that a random choice (yes, I have tried pulling out the percentile dice and deciding that way) lacks the conviction for me to actually follow through on it.
So I'm working on “The Troll King's Dream”, “Two Hundred Million Million Miles”, and “Sam's Song”.
(Sam's Song is giving me troubles, BTW, because it's so EASY to oom-pa-pa to that I'm having trouble convincing myself to do anything else.)
