I had a lot of fun at Marcon on Friday and Saturday. Just being at the filking and seeing all my filk friends was *wonderful*. I also very much enjoyed my koffeklatch with Tor editor David Hartwell–who is yet another editor that I don't think is a good match for my stuff, but who is great to talk with.
I assume that if I keep trying to get to know editors a little better I will eventually meet one or two who I think might be interested in my writing, but I don't think I care anymore. The koffeklatches would be worth doing even if I didn't write at all. I mean, what's not to like about spending an hour at a convention seated in a reasonably comfortable chair eating free refreshments and talking with someone intelligent, polite, erudite, and in love with books? 🙂
By Sunday I couldn't find any more oomph. I stayed for hardly any of the dead dog, and driving home was a little bit scary. I managed to get home safely, thank goodness, but not without missing a couple turns and driving in circles around downtown Columbus first. Then I went to sleep for the rest of the day, most of yesterday, and this morning. 🙁
